Community Drop-In Centre
VASS operates a community drop-in centre based in our office in Broadmeadows.
This service includes, but is not limited to:
- Supporting community members with a wide range of needs including access to government services and advocacy in dealing with utility companies
- Providing an access point for family violence support with close referral relationships with Safe Steps, In Touch and Orange Door
- Acting as an assessment and access point for other VASS services
VASS operates a No Wrong Door policy ensures that all community members receive support regardless of cultural or language background
Eligibility:
This service is available to all community members. However, where certain cases require specific expertise, such as legal issues or tax matters, VASS may instead provide a referral to a more suitable service to ensure appropriate support is provided.
Costs:
This service is free of charge. However, where there is a cost from a 3rd party related to the process being undertaken, such as lodgement fees for some government forms, this cost will need to be covered by the service user.
